What is leg length discrepancy?
Leg length discrepancy (LLD) occurs when one leg is measurably shorter — functionally or anatomically. Even a few millimeters of difference can cause pelvic tilt, lumbar scoliosis, hip pain, and asymmetric joint wear.

How do I know if I have LLD?
LLD is diagnosed by standing X-ray (anatomical) or clinical assessment (functional). Even 3–5mm of discrepancy can contribute to significant compensatory symptoms.
What height heel lift do I need?
Typically, only 50–75% of the measured LLD is corrected with the heel lift to allow gradual accommodation. Your clinician will advise on the appropriate starting height.
Will the heel lift cause other problems?
Excessive heel lift can shorten calf muscles. LevelStep™ should be used at the minimum effective height with a calf stretching program.
