What is plantar fasciitis?
Plantar fasciitis is inflammation of the plantar fascia — the thick band of tissue running from the heel bone to the toes. It causes stabbing heel pain worst with the first steps of the morning, or after rest. For most people it's not a sudden injury — it's an overload problem.
How FasciaFloat™ helps
FasciaFloat reduces tensile strain on the plantar fascia by supporting the arch and cushioning the heel insertion. A contoured deep heel cup unloads the calcaneal fat pad while a semi-rigid arch platform limits fascial elongation during gait. Designed to fit most shoes with removable insoles.
What causes the pain
Plantar fasciitis develops when the plantar fascia is repeatedly overstretched — from flat feet collapsing the arch, tight calf muscles, prolonged standing on hard surfaces, or sudden increases in activity. Micro-tears accumulate at the calcaneal insertion, triggering pain and inflammation.
The pain mechanism
During heel strike, the fascia is loaded by tensile stress. Without adequate arch support, load concentrates at the calcaneal attachment — causing repetitive microtrauma, collagen disorganization, and the characteristic first-step pain of plantar fasciitis.
How FasciaFloat™ works
A contoured heel cup unloads the calcaneal insertion by cushioning the fat pad. A semi-rigid arch support reduces fascial elongation throughout stance phase. Together these cut peak tensile strain on the fascia — less load, less pain.
Key design features
Deep heel cup with dense EVA cushioning for calcaneal fat pad support. Semi-rigid orthotic shell prevents arch collapse. Medial arch fill reduces fascial elongation. Low-profile sulcus-length trim fits standard footwear.
Who it's designed for
Sharp or stabbing heel pain worst in the morning. Heel pain after prolonged standing or walking. Pain at the inside of the heel or arch. Plantar fasciitis from flat feet, tight calves, or increased activity. Post-injury heel rehabilitation.
When to see a clinician
Heel pain not improving after 6–8 weeks of conservative care. Sudden intense heel pain after impact (possible stress fracture). Numbness or tingling in the foot (possible nerve entrapment). Bilateral heel pain with joint swelling (rule out inflammatory arthritis).
Clinician quick-view
Diagnosis: plantar fasciitis / inferior heel pain syndrome. Differentials: calcaneal stress fracture, heel fat pad syndrome, Baxter's nerve entrapment, insertional Achilles tendinopathy, seronegative spondyloarthropathy. Intent: reduce tensile strain at calcaneal insertion; cushion fat pad; limit arch collapse.
